A night before the day of Matsya Vedh (Piercing Fish eye) competition, Krishna and Arjuna are conversing.
Krishna says, "Arjuna, take care, put your step forward and concentrate on the eye of the fish".
Arjuna says, "If I have to do everything, then what will you do?"
Krishna in a very soft tone tells him, "What you can't do, I will do".
Arjuna asks, "And what is it that I can't do?"
Krishna answers, "I will keep the water steady..."
While preparing for the certification recently, more than certification syllabus or anxiety of the exam, I was worried about the power cut that usually happens amidst important meetings now and then. I kept on praying along side certi prep, “I will do my part, but make sure water (wifi) remains steady this time also so that I can complete certification without any hiccups”.
The d-day I sat to take certification, praying ‘keep water steady’ and whole duration I sat infront of laptop there was no power failure, however somehow the connection for video feed didn’t seem to work properly. After spending around 2 hrs for troubleshooting, when video feed didn’t work I finally gave up bit disappointed of not being able to take the exam but still convincing myself that if ‘water isn’t steady it is His doing’.
Rescheduled the certi for next day, but the same story repeated and I came to know may be office laptop won’t support taking the certi and I reminded myself ‘if water isn’t steady, it is still His doing.’
3rd attempt to take the certi, same story and same reminder. I then heard some of my colleagues had been able to successfully attempt using office laptop but somehow it wasn’t working for me. I tried taking help from IT specialists but it didnt seem to work. Before attempting for 4th time, I thought may be I would borrow laptop from someone in my circle near by, but surprisingly no one seemed to have a laptop, ipads tablets etc being new normal, or someone had laptop but of different configuration.
I had to attempt 4th time again on same laptop and still it didn’t work. More than certi or wifi, I was now worried about being able to attempt exam atleast. It got so frustrating that I discussed with my better half that may be buying a laptop was the only option left. Within a day or so order was placed, laptop arrived a few days after and finally day came to attempt for the 5th time.
Well, there was no power failure on 5th day and to my surprise video got started within minutes that I had to cross check with the proctor whether everything was well? Having spent hours and hours to troubleshoot in past, such a smooth start I wasn’t expecting. Certi went fine and I kept pondering about steadiness of water after the Certi for few days.
Pushing video feed out of an office laptop was no big deal, it had worked for my colleagues, getting help from IT folks to sort out issues was also no being deal, finding someone having a personal laptop with right configuration was also not a big deal, but somehow one after other turbulences kept coming even after I was praying for steadiness. But if it was time to bless with a new laptop, these turbulences in water were required. Had any of these things worked, I would’t have bought a laptop as I wasn’t even thinking to buy one.
